Over the past several weeks, Juli, Stefan, and Susan been hard at work learning about test IO’s software testing services, getting introduced to the customers we work with around the world, and diving into the exciting world of crowdtesting. Sound like something for you? We're hiring!
When you start working with test IO, a customer success manager (CSM) becomes your main point of contact. The CSM is your internal advocate and supports you in developing a testing strategy and running your regular testing regimen. They’re there to help you get the results you need from test IO’s platform, and help translate your requirements and workflow. Day-to-day, CSMs are our in-house experts and bring their considerable knowledge and experience to our customers as advisors and consultants.
While Susan and Juli were visiting the Berlin office last week, I had a chance to sit down with all of them to get to know the newest members of our team.
Susan Yi, Stefan Krauss, Juli Shimodaira
Susan Yi is originally from Chicago. She’s worked at several technology companies and startups in Illinois and California, and moved west to the Bay area four years ago because it’d always been her dream. With her degree in French, software development and quality assurance might not seem like a fit, but Susan’s interest in technology and passion for teaching are a great hybrid for customer success. Her first job was as a QA tester, so Susan is no slouch in software testing!
Susan on being a CSM:
“The goal is to be the advisor to the customer, and truly be their advocate, to understand how to obtain success for them. You need to learn their business. Everyone’s success factors are a bit different; one size doesn’t fit all.”
Stefan Krauss is a new customer success manager in test IO’s Berlin office. He grew up in Nürnberg, in southern Germany and studied business psychology at a university near Dortmund. He loves technology and working with developers, and moved to Berlin to look for companies with technical products to work for. Before test IO, Stefan worked at another Berlin startup where he started in sales but moved into customer success to focus on the long-term happiness of clients. Why Berlin? Stefan says he really enjoys the diversity and open-mindedness of the city. At test IO in particular, working in an international team is what attracted him to us.
Stefan on customer success:
“It’s to empower the client to be independent, to provide the right tools and the right information to let the client grow and be more successful with you.”
Juli Shimodaira is a native San Franciscan; she grew up in the Richmond district. She studied business management at a university in Shizuoka, Japan, and returned to the U.S. to work in healthcare: both in project management and as a software QA analyst. What Juli shared with me about healthcare projects and software convinced me that the complexity there has prepared her for anything! It’s Juli’s previous experience with software QA testing that makes her such a good fit for test IO’s San Francisco office, and the combination of SaaS (software as a service) and QA in a small startup environment that convinced her.
What Juli’s enjoying at test IO:
“I recently had the opportunity to visit the test IO team in Berlin. It was so great to meet the team face to face and to work on internal projects together. I truly appreciated their hospitality!”
